About Us

The Australian & New Zealand Risk Management Association is Risk Management's professional education body. Established as a not-for-profit organisation, the Association is governed by practising Risk Management Professionals. Recognising that Risk Management is a Multi-disiplinary field, we also work closely with many other specialist institutions and associations, and seek to represent an increasingly broard and diverse set of stakeholders.

The membership is drawn from industry, commerce, consultancy, and the public sector. Members have backgrounds in many different risk-related disciplines: accountants, project managers, insurers, chartered surveyors, health care professionals, lawyers, bankers, auditors, health and safety professionals and engineers are among those represented.

Australian & New Zealand Risk Management Association Associateship (ANZRMAM) is recognised as the sign of a risk management professional and is achieved through examination: Fellowship (FANZRMA) follows through accredited practical experience.

The Institute's key objectives are:

• Education - to provide flexible routes to professional qualifications and training in risk management.
• Qualifications - to provide the opportunity to gain an international recognised qualification, allowing people to develop skills in their own place at their own pace.
• Good Practice - to promote technical and ethical good practice.
• Partnership - to work with others to promote and further the interests of the profession of risk management

To achieve this, the Australian & New Zealand Risk Management Association:

• Encourages individuals to adopt health and safety best practice and help prevent accidents
• Advises anyone entering the health and safety field to undertake training and obtain professional qualifications
• Exchanges information with equivalent bodies throughout the world

Mission Statement

The association will also continually endeavour to enhance the reputation of its members and to champion the cause of the risk, safety and health management profession."

Health and Safety Practices

Australian & New Zealand Risk Management Association is committed to best practice in health and safety.  The Board of Governors reviews annually the Safety Health and Environmental Policy which is signed by the Chairman.  A report on health and safety matters is received at each Board meeting, risk assessments are undertaken, staff health and safety training is provided and a positive health and safety culture is promoted.
